January 29 to February 1, 2026, in Zhengzhou, a dynamic city with a profound historical heritage, the official Czech SPS Spiral Stabilization Muscle Chain Level 1 Certification Course hosted by Jianheng Academy concluded successfully.

Under the guidance of Lu Jinjin, an officially certified Czech SPS instructor, rehabilitation practitioners from all over the country gained in-depth knowledge of this world-famous spinal and musculoskeletal rehabilitation system.

SPS Spiral Chain: More Than Just Techniques

At the beginning of the course, Teacher Lu Jinjin made the core message clear from the start: the SPS Spiral Stabilization Muscle Chain technique is far more than a set of manual therapies or a few exercises — it is a holistic systematic philosophy centered on the body’s functional stability and movement.

Originally developed by Mr. Richard Smíšek, its core principle lies in recognizing that the imbalance between vertical muscle chains (static stability) and spiral muscle chains (dynamic stability) is the fundamental cause of increased spinal stress, chronic pain and postural problems prevalent in modern life.

During the class, the participants were highly motivated and fully engaged: listening attentively, taking detailed notes, and interacting actively. In practical training sessions, they worked in pairs, repeated drills, and proactively consulted the instructor about clinical challenges they had encountered. The content covered intervention techniques for scoliosis under 20 degrees, rehabilitation protocols for herniated intervertebral discs, pain relief methods for neck, shoulder, back and lumbar discomfort, and corrective strategies for postpartum diastasis recti...

Over the four days of intensive training, participants gradually built up the theoretical framework of SPS, covering detailed myoanatomy of muscle chains, functional assessment, and analysis of the underlying causes of excessive spinal stress.

They gained a profound understanding that many cases of chronic back pain, intervertebral disc disorders and scoliosis can be addressed from a new intervention perspective: muscle chain imbalance.

Activate Spiral Chains, Unlock Vertical Chains — From Theory to Practice

The core essence of this course is mastering how to perform active training targeting the four key spiral muscle chains — TR, LD, SA, PM — to achieve spiral stabilization of the spine.
Precise Assessment: Participants learned specific movement tests to rapidly identify the functional status and dysfunction patterns of clients’ spiral and vertical muscle chains, enabling more logical and targeted assessments.
Refining Fundamental Movements: With live demonstrations and one-on-one corrections by Teacher Lu, participants systematically mastered the classic foundational exercises of the SPS system. The coordination of breathing, tiny angular adjustments, and awareness of force alignment all determine whether training truly activates the spiral muscle chains rather than triggering compensatory patterns. Throughout the classroom, participants could be seen guiding one another and repeating the movements diligently.
Integrated Manual Therapy Applications: Beyond active exercise training, the course also covered basic manual therapy techniques for the shoulder girdle and pelvic girdle. By combining active training with passive manual regulation, participants gained a comprehensive toolkit for tissue regeneration and injury prevention.

Participant Feedback: Broader Clinical Thinking

After the course, many participants said they had gained far more than expected. They not only acquired new clinical techniques, but also gained a whole new perspective on rehabilitation.

"When I treated clients with low back pain before, I mostly focused on local soft tissue release and core strengthening. Now I realize the root cause may be impaired function of the overall spiral muscle chains. Using SPS assessment and training, I can address issues from a holistic perspective and achieve longer-lasting results."
"As a Pilates instructor, I find the SPS spiral stabilization philosophy resonates deeply with and complements my existing knowledge framework. It has given me a more anatomical and precise understanding of axial elongation and spiral force generation, allowing me to design safer and more effective classes."
"These four days of training have completely transformed my bodily awareness. I used to suffer from chronic neck and shoulder tension. Now I practice daily following SPS principles, and I feel my entire torso is properly aligned and supported, which brings great relief. I cannot wait to share these methods with my clients."

Official Instructor: Rigorous Expertise, Wholehearted Teaching

Instructor Lu Jinjin earned the unanimous respect of all participants through her solid anatomical knowledge, extensive clinical experience, and profound understanding of the SPS system.

Her teaching is logically structured, making complex theories easy to understand. Her hands-on guidance is meticulous and precise, allowing her to quickly identify key flaws in the participants’ movement patterns.

She emphasized: “The essence of SPS lies in control and sensory awareness, not brute force. What we need to teach patients is a new, intelligent way of using their bodies.”

A New Journey Begins | Upcoming Course

Developed originally by Mr. Richard Smíšek as a complete systematic framework, the SPS Spiral Stabilization Muscle Chain technique has been widely adopted in major hospitals and institutions across the Czech Republic, Germany and other countries, and is covered by local healthcare insurance systems. It has now been introduced in more than ten advanced nations worldwide, bringing new vitality to the local rehabilitation industry.

It features a broad range of applications: intervention for adolescent scoliosis, musculoskeletal conditioning for people suffering from chronic sitting-related neck, shoulder and back pain, correction of joint dysfunction in the elderly, and comprehensive rehabilitation programmes for prenatal and postnatal women. It also delivers remarkable results in sports injury recovery and body shaping, perfectly matching the diverse clinical service needs of modern rehabilitation therapists.

As the official Chinese training platform for the SPS technique, Jianheng Academy will continue to deliver the most authentic and cutting-edge SPS training courses.

We are pleased to share exciting news: our highly anticipated advanced SPS course has been officially structured into three thematic modules: scoliosis management, herniated intervertebral disc rehabilitation, and the relationship between spinal structures and visceral function.

The journey continues. We look forward to welcoming you to our next course!
